IAS officer Amrapali, who recently lost her legal fight against the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) regarding her allotment to the Telangana cadre, has now been transferred to Andhra Pradesh. Along with three other IAS officers, she reported to the Andhra Pradesh secretariat yesterday.
The news of Amrapali's transfer has sparked discussions on social media regarding her potential role in Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan's initiatives. Pawan Kalyan has expressed a desire to collaborate with young and dynamic officers, having previously brought IAS officer Krishna Teja to Andhra Pradesh from Kerala for a similar purpose.
Pawan Kalyan oversees several key departments, including Panchayat Raj, Drinking Water Supply, Rural Development, Science and Technology, as well as Forests and Environment. It is anticipated that Amrapali's expertise could be effectively utilized in these areas, though it remains unclear whether Pawan specifically requested her presence in his office.
The four IAS officers, including Amrapali, reported to the Chief Secretary yesterday and are expected to meet Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu today for allocation of their respective roles. Amrapali's prior experience includes significant positions such as GHMC Commissioner and working in the Prime Minister's Office, where she managed affairs pertaining to southern states.
