Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday urged stakeholders to focus on speedy and effective implementation of Budget 2025, particularly in agriculture and rural development. Speaking virtually at the post-budget webinar on “Agriculture and Rural Prosperity”, Modi highlighted that this budget is crucial for achieving the vision of Viksit Bharat and sustaining policy consistency in his government’s third term. He emphasized that the budget was designed based on stakeholder inputs and should now be executed efficiently on the ground.
 

Enhancing Agricultural Productivity and Rural Prosperity

Agriculture remains the first engine of India’s growth, and the government is committed to increasing productivity and rural economic prosperity. Modi stressed the importance of enhancing domestic production of pulses to reduce dependence on imports and called upon the private sector to invest in high-yielding crop seeds. He urged the agriculture sector to align with modern farming technologies and sustainable practices to boost productivity and income. Modi’s government has been prioritizing agriculture reforms, farm mechanization, and water conservation to ensure long-term food security and economic stability.
