Plot:

The Final Reckoning Part Two continues right after the events of Part One. Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) is called out of exile by President Erika Sloane (Angela Bassett) via a voice note, asking him to stop a catastrophic cyberattack by a dangerous, sentient AI called "The Entity." With a mysterious Key that could either save or destroy the world, Ethan must once again go rogue and face near-impossible odds to save humanity. What follows is a globe-trotting mission filled with betrayals, jaw-dropping stunts, and emotional payoffs.

Overview:

Marking the possible conclusion to one of the greatest action franchises in cinematic history, Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning is a nostalgia-laced action epic. It balances high-stakes global peril with intense personal moments, while showcasing Ethan Hunt as the enduring hero the world can still believe in. Director Christopher McQuarrie stays true to the franchise’s DNA with layered espionage, moral dilemmas, and out-of-this-world stunts led by a relentless Tom Cruise.

Performances:

  • Tom Cruise (Ethan Hunt): Outstanding. At 62, Cruise delivers stunts that defy logic, gravity, and age. His performance is sincere, charismatic, and filled with emotional weight.

  • Hayley Atwell, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Henry Czerny, Angela Bassett, Pom Klementieff, Esai Morales: Deliver solid performances. Each character plays their part efficiently without overshadowing the central arc.

  • Lucy Tulugarjuk (Tapeesa): A surprise standout with her subtle humor and expressive acting.

Technical Aspects:

  • Direction: Christopher McQuarrie masterfully constructs tension, emotion, and action, maintaining the franchise’s high standard.

  • Cinematography (Fraser Taggart): Spectacular visuals—whether underwater, urban, or high-altitude sequencesevery frame is cinematic.

  • Writing: Crisp dialogue and emotionally resonant moments. Some quotes are bound to be remembered.

  • Production Design & Visual Effects: Top-notch, delivering IMAX-worthy experiences.

  • Sound Design: Immersive, sharp, and perfectly synced with action beats.

Music:

  • Composers: Max Aruj & Alfie Godfrey
The background score elevates tension and action sequences throughout. Notably, they avoided recycling franchise music and created a fresh, original score that enhances immersion.

Editing:

  • Editor: Eddie Hamilton
While mostly effective, a few sequences especially the underwater scene in the second half feel overstretched. Pacing in the first hour is deliberate and may test the patience of viewers who expect constant momentum.

Positives:

  • Tom Cruise’s masterclass in action

  • Epic action choreography

  • Strong emotional undercurrent and nostalgia

  • Original and impactful background score

  • Intelligent writing and powerful dialogues

  • Visually stunning cinematography

Negatives:

  • Some sequences feel overlong

  • Pacing issues in the first hour

  • Overuse of exposition in certain scenes

Analysis:

Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning is a love letter to fans of the franchise. It begins with an emotionally powerful note from the U.S. President recounting Ethan’s past heroics and ends with the kind of pulse-pounding finale that defines the best of action cinema. The recurring theme is clear: "If there’s one man we can count on to save the world, it’s Ethan Hunt."

Despite minor flaws in pacing and length, the film delivers where it matters the most stunts, spectacle, and soul. The writing honors Ethan Hunt’s legacy, the direction is tight, and the visuals dazzle. Whether this is really the final chapter remains uncertain, but it certainly feels like a worthy climax.

Bottomline: Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning

Rating: 3.25 / 5

K Ramp movie review: Kiran Abbavaram film milks a worn-out formula with crude humour test

If you meet K Ramp’s protagonist Kumar Abbavaram (played by Kiran Abbavaram), you would not want to bump into him again. He is entitled, born with a silver spoon, and gives up on studies because his father is already well to do. He has supposedly simple desires — wear a lungi and head out to a bar with friends, sip local beer, and groove to mass numbers. When he falls for a girl, Mercy (Yukti Thareja), he does not say ‘I love you’. He states, ‘Naa Peru Abbavaram… Istha neeku varam.’ (I am Abbava
