Nani in an interview revealed that while the previous films in the HIT franchise were whodunit (who committed the crime) thrillers where the investigation started and the killer was revealed only in the end, HIT 3 was not about 'who' but about 'how'. He further added that the film did not justify police brutality.

The Family Star received generally negative reviews from critics, who heavily criticised Parasuram's writing and direction, second half, weak comedy, plot, soundtrack, and the lead cast's performances. A critic from News18 rated the film three-and-a-half out of five stars and wrote that "Vijay Deverakonda and Mrunal Thakur's solid on-screen chemistry receives much love and appreciation from the audience".[22] Paul Nicodemus from The Times of India rated the film two-and-a-half out of five stars and wrote that "Family Star, despite its promising setup and strong performances, ultimately falters due to its unengaging screenplay and lack of emotional depth in key relationships".[23] Avad Mohammad from OTTplay rated the film two-and-a-half out of five stars and wrote that "On the whole, Family Star is a routine romantic drama with a decent first half. The second half goes for a toss and leaves the audience disappointed. A few family-oriented scenes are good, and the film might cater to the target audience this holiday season".[24] A critic from 123Telugu rated the film two-and-three-quarters out of five stars and wrote that "On the whole, The Family Star entertains to a certain extent. Outdated and annoying the film is".[30] Neeshita Nyayapati from the Hindustan Times wrote that "Family Star could’ve been a simple, earnest film about a man taking up the responsibility of a massive family and finding love".[31] Raghu Bandi from The Indian Express rated the film two out of five and wrote that "Given the film is designed as a blockbuster with Dil Raju producing, the middle-class sensibilities often slip, revealing it to be the big extravaganza it was always meant to be".[32] Sangeetha Devi Dundoo from The Hindu wrote that "Family Star does no justice to the family quotient or the star material. It is an interesting idea to raise a toast to the star of every middle-class family but that idea is lost in a film that gets progressively boring and tests your patience".[33] Janani K from India Today rated the film two out of five stars and wrote that "The Family Star is enjoyable in parts, thanks to Vijay Deverakonda's camaraderie with his grandmother and a few funny sequences. However, its pacing and conflict could have lifted the film to another level".[34]

Akhil Akkineni Marries Zainab Ravdjee in Hyderabad
Telugu actor Akhil Akkineni, son of superstar Nagarjuna and Amala Akkineni, married Zainab Ravdjee in a traditional, intimate wedding ceremony on June 6 at the family’s Hyderabad residence. The wedding took place around 3 am, following Telugu customs, with only close friends and family in attendance. The couple chose to twin in classic white. Akhil wore a white kurta, pancha, and angavastra, while Zainab stunned in a white and gold silk saree, paired with dazzling diamond jewelry. The couple opted for a simple home celebration, stepping away from grandiose industry-style weddings. Among the special attendees were megastar Chiranjeevi and his wife Surekha, actor Ram Charan, and Upasana Kamineni. The pre-wedding rituals were led by Nagarjuna and Amala, and Naga Chaitanya joined the family celebrations with his partner, actress Sobhita Dhulipala. The baraat took place the previous evening and was followed by the ceremony, filled with warmth and tradition. Friends from the film and cricket worlds, including director Prashanth Neel, actor Sharwanand, and cricketer Tilak Varma, were part of the festivities. The couple got engaged in November 2024, and Akhil had introduced Zainab on social media with a heartfelt post saying, “Found my forever.
