Choreographer Jani Master has found himself in the news once again following recent allegations of sexual harassment. After being released on bail, he has now responded to actress Jhansi's post regarding a legal case filed by the Film Chamber of Commerce.
Jhansi had shared a post highlighting the victory of the Film Chamber of Commerce in a case filed against Jani, claiming the court dismissed his interim application in the district court. She celebrated the ruling as an important step towards ensuring women's safety in the film industry workplace, especially under the guidelines of the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) Act. In her post, she wrote, “Film Chamber of Commerce wins the case against Choreographer Jani Basha, who had challenged the chamber's orders in the district court on the grounds of proven sexual harassment at workplace charges. The Court has dismissed his interim application. This is a significant judgment, proving that women’s safety at the workplace is a priority."
However, Jani Master countered Jhansi’s post by clarifying the confusion surrounding the legal proceedings. According to Jani, Jhansi was misleading the public by linking the judgment of a case he filed regarding the Dancers Union elections to the sexual harassment case. He stated, “You are sharing posts as per your convenience by linking the judgement of the case I filed regarding the Union President elections to an entirely different case.”
Jani's statement further added that the case related to the union elections, which were held without his knowledge, and not to the sexual harassment charges. He expressed his frustration, claiming that once the actual case verdict was out, people would understand the truth behind the allegations and false claims being spread. He concluded, “Justice will prevail, and everyone will know the truth very soon.”
To clarify, Jani was previously accused by a female choreographer of sexual harassment, which led to his temporary imprisonment and subsequent release on bail. The lady choreographer also filed a complaint with the Film Chamber of Commerce, which eventually resulted in Jani being removed from his post in the Dancers Union. The elections were held for the union position, and Jani challenged the process in court, which ultimately dismissed his petition.
The ongoing battle continues to fuel public debate, with Jani's legal fight not yet concluded.
