The forthcoming Sankranthi clash is going to be a really exciting and interesting one for the Telugu audience. In a strange conundrum, Dil Raju, the producer of Varasudu is giving top priority to this dubbed film in terms of theatre allocation.
The latest developments are suggesting that Varasudu has locked the prime Sankranthi slot of the 12th of January. The overseas distributor of the film has announced the same. Meaning, this film will be the first to release next Sankranthi festival season. This could well boost the box office prospects of the Vijay starrer.
The other Telugu biggies, Veera Simha Reddy and Waltair Veerayya are now left gasping for the optimal release date as the Vijay starrer has locked the prime slot.
The Chiranjeevi starrer and the Balakrishna starrer will now have to pick the remaining 13, or 14 January slots and settle for the lesser lucrative dates.
Needless to say, the film that released first during the Sankranthi season will have an overwhelming advantage. Varasudu appears to be on course to benefit from the same while Veera Simha Reddy and Waltair Veerayya are yet to lock the release plans.
