The song, initially leaked with poor audio quality, was later re-recorded by a Hyderabadi singer named Hanuman. AI was then used to recreate the song as if Daler Mehndi had sung it, resulting in a rendition so realistic that listeners believed it to be the original artist’s voice.
The use of AI in music, while innovative, raised no concerns about copyright as proper permissions were secured for the experiment. This is not the first time AI has been used in music; A.R. Rahman had conducted a similar experiment earlier.
