In a very interesting turn of events, Telugu Desam party supremo Chandrababu Naidu was arrested by Andhra Pradesh CID in Nandyal today in connection with the AP Skill Development scam.
Naidu was taken into custody by the CID police and he is currently under investigation for his role in the scam case.
Naidu's arrest came as a rude shock to the TDP cadre. Nara Lokesh has also been detained by the AP police as a preventive measure in wake of the arrest of Chandrababu Naidu. Naidu had called for his troops not to riot on the streets.
Lokesh was not allowed to talk to the media after the arrest and he was not permitted to travel to Nandyal and be with his family either.
This comes as a pretty significant development in Andhra Pradesh politics as the state elections are not too far from now.
