He recalled that in the mid-1980s, Chiranjeevi went beyond the norm by paying fighters Rs 1,000 per day, which was more than the usual salary. Most notably, Ponnambalam revealed that Chiranjeevi spent Rs 58 lakh on his kidney treatment when he was diagnosed with severe health issues, saving his life.
