Akhil Akkineni’s Agent released in theaters later last year and it bombed like anything at the box office. It is one of the biggest box office disasters of all time in Tollywood.
So now there’s no point in holding back the OTT release of the film any longer.
The film has sealed 19 May as its OTT release date and an official announcement to this effect was made by the official OTT streaming partner, Sony Liv.
The film will stream on Sony Liv from the 19th of this month which is exactly 3 weeks post its theatrical release.
Agent will be making an additional Rs 5 crores from Sony Liv for the early OTT release it seems. Had there been a standard 6 weeks OTT release window, this additional money wouldn’t have been given.
Now that the film has gone for early release, Sony is apparently paying the makers another 5 crores. This is just a speculation for now and there’s nothing official about it.
