It is very much evident that CM Revanth Reddy has been going particularly hard against the drug peddling and consumption activity in Hyderabad. The Telangana government recently introduced rapid drug tests that would detect drugs from samples in just 10 minutes.
Now, in a new enforcement, the Telangana government has enforced a new measure at the pubs in Hyderabad which are otherwise seen as breeding grounds for drug abusers.
Hyderabad police have reportedly deployed special teams with trained sniffer dogs to help identify drug traces in pubs in Hyderabad.
In a pilot program, these dogs were deployed in pubs in the Hyderabad west zone on Saturday night. This sniffer dog program is used to identify if anyone in the pub is using drugs.
The city police force is likely to impose this program in the pubs across the city soon. This is a socially welcome move, particularly considering the increased number of cases of drug peddling and consumption in Hyderabad of late.
