YSR Congress (YCP) and its president, YS Jagan, faced a significant shock following the resignation of senior leader Vijay Sai Reddy. This resignation not only left Jagan without one of his closest allies but also resulted in a loss for the party in the Rajya Sabha, as Reddy held an important seat in the Upper House.

He added that there was no need to be swayed by external pressures or political ideologies to switch allegiances.
 

Jagan’s remarks, including references to the other Rajya Sabha MPs who also left his party, hinted that he believed Sai Reddy’s actions lacked the required political fortitude and character to remain steadfast. "Power is not permanent in democracy," Jagan stated, implying that the political tides would eventually change, and those who remain true to their values will outlast those who seek easy gains.
