The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) has announced major updates to the RuPay Debit Select Card, offering enhanced lifestyle benefits in fitness, travel, wellness, and entertainment. These new features will be effective from April 1, 2025, providing cardholders with complimentary airport lounge access, gym memberships, spa sessions, OTT subscriptions, and accident insurance coverage.RuPay Debit Select was introduced as a premium debit card offering exclusive privileges. In a circular dated February 25, 2025, NPCI stated that the new benefits aim to help member banks provide value-added services to customers who seek lifestyle-driven financial products.
 

New Benefits and Features of the RuPay Debit Select Card

NPCI has introduced multiple perks to enhance the RuPay Debit Select Card’s appeal, making it one of the most feature-rich debit cards in India. Below are the newly announced benefits:

• Complimentary Airport Lounge Access: Cardholders will receive one free domestic airport lounge visit per quarter and two free international lounge visits per year at participating lounges, offering a premium travel experience.

• Personal Accident Insurance: The card provides up to Rs 10 lakh insurance coverage in case of accidental death or permanent total disability. To qualify for this benefit, users must have completed at least one RuPay transaction within 30 days prior to the accident.

• Gym Membership Benefits: Customers can access one complimentary gym membership per quarter, with options for 90 days of home workouts or 30 days of offline gym access.

• Quarterly Health Check-up Package: Cardholders can avail of one free health check-up per quarter, making it easier to monitor health regularly.

• Golf Lessons and Rounds: Golf enthusiasts can benefit from one complimentary golf lesson or round every quarter, adding to the card’s premium offerings.

• Spa and Salon Privileges: Cardholders will receive one free spa session or salon service per quarter, enhancing their wellness and self-care routine.

• Cab Service Discount: A Rs 100 cab service coupon will be available every quarter, making commutes more affordable.

• OTT Entertainment Subscription: RuPay Debit Select users will get a 12-month free subscription to either Amazon Prime, Hotstar, or Sony Liv, ensuring unlimited access to entertainment content.

Annual Fees and NPCI’s Vision for RuPay Debit Select

The RuPay Debit Select Card will continue to have an annual fee of Rs 250, which will be collected quarterly by banks based on the number of active cards reported.NPCI’s goal with these updates is to make RuPay Debit Select one of the most rewarding debit cards in India, providing cardholders with benefits that rival those of premium credit cards.
