Minister for Education Nara Lokesh has extended full cooperation from the state government to Google Cloud for their ambitious Data City project in Visakhapatnam. During a meeting in New Delhi on Wednesday, Google Cloud's Managing Director Bikram Singh, Country Director (Public Sector and EdTech) Asish, and their team discussed the project with Lokesh. The Minister assured them that the Andhra Pradesh Economic Development Board (APEDB) was actively working to clear all necessary approvals, including land allocation for the development of the site.
Lokesh emphasized that the Data City project would be a game-changer for Visakhapatnam, turning the port city into a hub for start-ups and Artificial Intelligence (AI) development. He urged the Google Cloud executives to expedite the process, highlighting the potential for innovation and job creation the project would bring to the region.Bikram Singh, appreciating the state government’s efforts toward digital transformation, assured that Google Cloud would take all necessary steps to accelerate the establishment of the Data City. This development promises to enhance Visakhapatnam’s tech infrastructure and position it as a key player in the global AI and digital ecosystem.
