Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is making history with the introduction of a WhatsApp-based governance model, set to be fully implemented starting tomorrow. This initiative is a first in India, marking a revolutionary shift in how state governments offer administrative services. The move is designed to bring government services directly to the citizens via WhatsApp, making it easier and more convenient for the public to access essential services without the need to visit government offices in person.
The first phase of the WhatsApp governance model will provide 161 services related to key sectors such as endowments, energy, APSRTC, revenue, Anna Canteen, municipal services, and the AP CM Relief Fund. By offering these services through WhatsApp, the Andhra Pradesh government aims to improve efficiency and accessibility for the common public, especially in rural areas. Citizens will now be able to receive services and information with just a few taps on their phones.
Chandrababu Naidu's administration plans to expand the WhatsApp governance model in future phases, with the ultimate goal of providing almost all government services through this platform. The initial pilot phase, which begins tomorrow, will help evaluate and refine the model before full-scale implementation. This visionary move is expected to streamline government operations and set a new precedent in digital governance across India.
