Traffic Congestion Across Madhya Pradesh: The ongoing Maha Kumbh pilgrimage has led to major traffic jams in several districts of Madhya Pradesh, including Jabalpur, Seoni, Katni, Maihar, Satna, and Rewa. These bottlenecks have made it difficult for pilgrims traveling to Prayagraj for the ongoing spiritual event. The situation has been exacerbated as large numbers of vehicles make their way towards Prayagraj, causing significant delays.
Chief Minister’s Request: In response to the heavy traffic, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has requested pilgrims to postpone their travel towards Prayagraj for the next few days. He explained that the traffic in areas bordering Prayagraj, especially in the Rewanchal region (around Rewa district), is under heavy strain due to the high volume of travelers. Yadav appealed to devotees to avoid further movement until the situation improves and advised them to check Google for traffic updates before continuing their journey.
Government and Safety Measures: The Madhya Pradesh government has ensured that pilgrims are provided with adequate facilities, including food, water, and safety measures while they are on their way to Prayagraj. The state administration is in constant contact with the Prayagraj authorities to address the challenges posed by overcrowding. With the number of people attending the Maha Kumbh increasing rapidly, the authorities continue to manage the crowd effectively, with over 44 crore devotees having participated in the ritual dip at Triveni Sangam by February 9. The event, which runs until February 26, is witnessing an unprecedented influx of spiritual travelers from across the world.
