At the Invest Karnataka-2025 summit, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh made a humorous comment about Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s recent knee injury, advising him to be mindful of "stumbling blocks everywhere" in politics. The remark came as Singh addressed the inaugural session of the summit, where Siddaramaiah made his first public appearance since the injury.Singh, recalling his visit to Bengaluru on Saturday, expressed relief that Siddaramaiah was recovering fast and praised the Chief Minister for his resilience. He humorously added, “In politics, keeping your legs safe is very important and you have to be very mindful because you will find stumbling blocks everywhere.”
Despite their political differences, Singh commended Siddaramaiah's leadership, acknowledging his ability to overcome challenges throughout his career. He also praised the CM's statesmanship, particularly for inviting him to the summit, highlighting the gesture as an example of working together in a spirit of cooperation.Addressing the summit's investors, Singh emphasized the improvement in India’s business environment, noting that the country now welcomes investors with a “red carpet” rather than red tape. He highlighted Karnataka’s strategic location and its access to valuable resources and a skilled workforce from various states.
This event marked Siddaramaiah’s first public appearance after being hospitalized for knee pain following an accident at home on February 8. The Chief Minister had been advised rest for several days due to the injury. Siddaramaiah is also currently facing political challenges, including questions over Muda site allotments and speculation surrounding a possible cabinet reshuffle.
