Former Union Minister and Rajya Sabha MP referred to the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir as a "political decision," stating that it was unnecessary since 99 per cent of the laws in the region were already similar to those in the rest of India. Speaking at a book launch in the national capital, Sibal, according to news agency PTI, said, “After August 5, 2019, when Article 370 of the Constitution was abrogated, the die was cast.”
