Vice President Kamala Harris and her running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, participated in their first joint interview since launching their campaign, which aired on CNN. During the interview, Harris defended her economic policies, including those of the Biden administration, while also pledging to enhance efforts to make life more affordable for middle-class Americans. She also promised to appoint a Republican to her Cabinet if she wins the election.
Meanwhile, former President Donald Trump, speaking to NBC News before a rally in Potterville, Michigan, vowed to protect access to IVF treatments if re-elected.
Harris also held a rally in Savannah, Georgia, concluding a two-day bus tour through the southeastern part of the state. Harris sees a potential opportunity to secure Georgia, a key battleground state, while Trump is making significant efforts to return it to the Republican column, including mending his long-standing rift with the state's popular Republican governor.
The vice-presidential candidates were also active on the campaign trail. Walz delivered a speech in Raleigh, North Carolina, while the Republican vice-presidential nominee, JD Vance, addressed a first responders' convention in Boston, where his speech received a mixed reaction of cheers and boos.
