In response to the rising demand for premium travel, Air India has expanded its Premium Economy class, now offering fares starting at just ₹599 on select domestic routes. This move comes as the demand for premium travel has reportedly doubled in the past three years. The airline's new fares aim to provide affordable luxury experiences for Indian travelers. Currently, Air India’s Premium Economy is available on 39 domestic routes, offering over 50,000 Premium Economy seats weekly. The majority of these seats — approximately 34,000 — are available on key metro routes, including:

In a strategic move to expand its Premium Economy capacity, Air India has retrofitted 27 A320 aircraft, adding a 30% increase in seat availability.
