In a recent initiative to transform Andhra Pradesh into a technology hub, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu introduced a comprehensive new IT policy designed to promote Deep-Tech and Artificial Intelligence. During a review meeting, Naidu revealed plans to build an iconic Deep-Technology structure in Amaravati, aimed at harnessing the latest advancements in technology. The state government also announced a seed funding scheme under the Start-Up Policy to support SCs, STs, BCs, minorities, and women with Rs 25 lakh to help foster innovation and entrepreneurship.
Naidu outlined a strategy for the creation of five innovation hubs in key regions across Andhra Pradesh, which will be linked to the Ratan Tata Innovation Hub. These hubs will provide critical infrastructure and support for tech startups, fostering an environment of innovation in the state. Further efforts will focus on employment generation with the goal of creating 5 lakh workstations by 2029 and 10 lakh workstations by 2034. This initiative aims to prepare the youth for future job demands by equipping them with necessary skills.
Additionally, the state government will provide subsidies to IT companies in the form of support for co-working spaces and office complexes. These measures aim to attract more businesses to set up in the state, thereby driving the growth of Andhra Pradesh’s tech ecosystem. Minister Nara Lokesh has also supported the policy, highlighting its potential to make Andhra Pradesh a leading player in the IT and innovation sectors.
