On Monday, Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy inaugurated the Aramghar-Nehru Zoological Park flyover, the second-longest flyover in Hyderabad, which spans four kilometers and has been constructed at a cost of Rs 800 crore. This six-lane bi-directional flyover is expected to significantly alleviate the traffic congestion on the busy Hyderabad-Bangalore national highway, especially in the Aramghar and Nehru Zoological Park areas. The Chief Minister also named the flyover after former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, who passed away recently, in recognition of his contributions.
During the inauguration, CM Revanth Reddy emphasized the government's commitment to urban development, recalling the construction of the longest flyover, the P.V. Narasimha Rao Expressway, built under the leadership of former Chief Minister Y. S. Rajashekhara Reddy. He highlighted that the Aramghar-Nehru Zoological Park flyover, completed in record time, stands as a testament to the Congress government's focus on improving infrastructure in Hyderabad as part of its broader vision for the city’s growth, known as Mission 'Hyderabad Rising.' The Chief Minister also spoke about the ongoing efforts to solve urban issues and enhance the city's infrastructure.
In addition to the flyover, CM Revanth Reddy outlined several other major projects aimed at sustaining the city's development. He mentioned initiatives under Vision 2050 to ensure a long-term solution to Hyderabad's water supply challenges, the Metro rail expansion, and the Musi rejuvenation project, which all aim to improve both urban development and environmental sustainability. Revanth Reddy also discussed plans to develop a cable bridge over Mir Alam Tank, improve tourism, and complete the Regional Ring Road project, all of which are set to play key roles in the future of Hyderabad.
