Former Delhi Chief Minister and AAP leader Atishi has accused the newly formed BJP government of failing to fulfill its pre-election promise of providing a Rs 2,500 monthly allowance to women in its first cabinet meeting. In a video posted on X, she criticized the BJP for allegedly deceiving the women of Delhi.In response, newly appointed Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta dismissed Atishi’s remarks, stating that the new government would operate on its own terms. "It’s our government, and the agenda will be ours. Let us work. She doesn’t need to tell us what to do. She had her time in power," Gupta said during a press briefing.Gupta further questioned AAP’s governance, pointing out that Congress ruled for 15 years and AAP for 13. She asked how AAP could criticize the BJP on its very first day in power. She also accused AAP and Congress of internal instability, stating, "There are many people who want to leave."
 

During its first cabinet meeting, the BJP government announced the implementation of the Centre’s Ayushman Bharat health scheme in Delhi. This move was part of the BJP’s election promises and aimed at improving healthcare access in the capital. Gupta also confirmed that her government would table 14 pending Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) reports on the AAP-led administration’s financial and governance performance. These reports were reportedly blocked by AAP when it was in power.Atishi continued her attack on BJP, stating that the party had begun breaking its promises on its very first day in office. She said, "BJP has made up its mind to cheat the people of Delhi. It’s unfortunate that a woman Chief Minister broke her promise to women on the first day in office." She also posted an image on X featuring women holding placards that read, "Women of Delhi are waiting" for the promised allowance.Rekha Gupta responded by assuring that the first installment of the Rs 2,500 women’s allowance would be credited by March 8. The scheme was a key poll promise in BJP’s manifesto, countering AAP’s pledge of providing Rs 2,100 per month to women if re-elected.
