India Shoots Down Pakistan's AWACS Jet: Major Blow to Air Surveillance
In a major escalation of hostilities, India shot down a key Pakistani surveillance aircraft an Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS) along with three Pakistani fighter jets following a wave of unprovoked attacks initiated by Pakistan on Thursday night. The engagement marks one of the most significant aerial responses in recent times by Indian armed forces, delivering a strategic and symbolic setback to Islamabad.

According to government sources, the AWACS was shot down inside Pakistan's Punjab province. The aircraft was performing surveillance operations likely to guide drone and missile strikes towards Indian military stations and civilian areas. Along with the AWACS, India also brought down an F-16 and two JF-17 fighter jets, severely crippling Pakistan’s air mission coordination capabilities.
