In a heartbreaking incident in southern Ireland, two Indian students were killed, and two others were seriously injured after their car crashed into a tree in County Carlow. The two deceased, Cherekuri Suresh Chowdary and Chithoori Bhargav, both in their 20s, were pronounced dead at the scene. The accident occurred on Friday, when the black Audi A6 they were traveling in veered off the road at Graiguenaspiddoge, near Mount Leinster. The students, part of the Indian community in Carlow, had recently graduated from South East Technological University (SETU) and had been living together in a shared house.
The injured passengers, a man and a woman, were transported to St. Luke's General Hospital in Kilkenny for treatment. One of the survivors is reported to be employed at a local pharmaceutical company, MSD. The community has rallied in support of the victims' families, with a fundraiser launched to cover funeral costs, raising over 25,000 Euros within 24 hours. The Indian Embassy in Dublin has expressed its condolences, offering assistance to the families of the victims and the injured students.This tragic event has left the Indian community in Carlow in deep mourning. Superintendent Anthony Farrell from the local Garda station extended his sympathies, confirming the close ties between the victims and the local community.
