In a significant development in Karnataka’s BJP politics, the party’s high command has rejected the rebel camp's demands to replace BY Vijayendra as the state president, leaving the disgruntled leaders without any support. Sources confirmed that BJP’s senior leadership refused to entertain the complaints against Vijayendra, despite attempts by the rebel group to push for a change. The group, which included prominent figures like former minister Ramesh Jarkiholi, had hoped to convince the high command to make the leadership change, but their efforts were unsuccessful.
 

Adding to the tensions, the BJP high command reprimanded Ramesh Jarkiholi for making false claims about a meeting with BJP National President JP Nadda. The leadership expressed anger over the rebel camp’s actions, which were seen as attempts to damage the party’s image. In a move to clarify their stance, the high command allowed former minister Arvind Limbavali to meet with Nadda, while the rebel leaders' request to meet the top leadership was ignored. Even BJP MP Basavaraj Bommai, who had been approached by the rebels, declined to support their demand for leadership change, stating that he would adhere to the party’s decision.
 

The rejection of the rebel camp's request and the reprimanding of their efforts indicate the high command’s firm stance on Vijayendra's leadership. This has discouraged the rebel leaders, who, after their unsuccessful attempt, have decided to return to Karnataka. Some have opted to attend the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, while others have acknowledged that the high command’s decision on the leadership will be final. Meanwhile, BJP MLA Suresh Gowda has backed Vijayendra, calling for action against the rebel leaders and criticizing those who publicly criticized former Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa.
