A 15-year-old Class 9 student from Noida has been arrested for sending fake bomb threat emails to four schools in the city. The student used VPN technology to mask his location and avoid attending school, making it appear as though the threats were from an unknown source. This incident took place early Wednesday morning when the schools received the emails, triggering swift emergency responses.
Schools Affected:
The bomb threats were sent to four schools: Step By Step, The Heritage School, Gyanshree, and Mayoor School, at approximately 12:30 am. After the school administrations received the threatening emails, they immediately contacted the police, who began their investigation. In response, the police, along with the fire brigade, bomb squad, and dog squad, rushed to the schools to investigate. All schools were evacuated as a precautionary measure, but no suspicious items or threats were found during the checks.
Investigation and Arrest:
Following an investigation by the police and cyber teams, it was revealed that a Class 9 student was behind the fake bomb threats. The student had utilized VPN technology to hide his identity and location when sending the emails. Further investigation showed that the student had researched previous bomb threat cases on the internet before sending the emails. The student, who resides in Delhi’s Sarita Vihar, was arrested and presented before the Juvenile Court.
