Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi responded to the criticism and social media trolls questioning the board’s ability to complete the renovation of Karachi and Lahore stadiums in time for the upcoming Champions Trophy, which kicks off on February 19. The PCB faced heavy criticism following delays and concerns about the completion of stadium upgrades after a venue shift for a Test match between Pakistan and Bangladesh and the extension of deadlines for the renovation works.
Despite the challenges, Naqvi proudly announced that the PCB had successfully completed the stadium upgradation projects, ensuring the venues were ready to host the prestigious event. During the inauguration of the newly renovated Karachi Stadium, Naqvi took a dig at the naysayers, declaring, “We win, you lose,” in reference to the successful completion of the stadium renovations.
He thanked the workers for their dedication and hard work, acknowledging their efforts in meeting the tight deadlines. He also shared that the Karachi stadium’s new pavilion, complete with dressing rooms and hospitality facilities, exceeded expectations and looked better than Lahore's Gaddafi Stadium.Upgrades to Karachi's National Bank Stadium include significant improvements to both playing conditions and fan experiences.
