Bill Clinton, the 42nd President of the United States, was hospitalized on Monday at Georgetown University Medical Center for testing and observation after experiencing a fever. His deputy chief of staff, Angel Urena, shared the news on social media, assuring the public that Clinton remains in good spirits despite the health scare.
The 78-year-old former president has a history of health issues. In 2004, Clinton underwent a quadruple bypass surgery at age 58 due to extensive heart disease. He also had stents implanted in his coronary artery in 2010. These health challenges led Clinton to make significant lifestyle changes, including adopting a vegetarian diet, which he often discusses in interviews.
Clinton was hospitalized for five nights in October 2021 for a blood infection, and his health again made headlines in November 2022 when he tested positive for Covid-19. Despite his medical history, Clinton continues to stay active in public life, focusing on diplomacy and humanitarian efforts.
His latest hospitalization comes as he continues his post-presidential work, following a long and sometimes controversial two-term presidency from 1993 to 2001. Clinton remains the second-youngest living US president, after Barack Obama.
