Modi explained that Dawood threatened him after he refused to support match-fixing. The underworld figure allegedly wanted to manipulate matches, but Modi maintained a strict anti-corruption stance.
Modi revealed that he received death threats and was warned by senior police officers about a hit on his life, offering him only 12 hours of protection. He was escorted to the Four Seasons Hotel in Mumbai after a police officer informed him of the threat. Despite these threats, Modi stated that he could return to India at any time, asserting that he is not a fugitive and there are no legal cases against him. The story of Modi being on Dawood Ibrahim’s hit list was also previously confirmed by Chhota Shakeel, Dawood’s associate, who detailed an attempt on Modi’s life in Bangkok.
