On July 18th, Rajampeta MP Mithun Reddy's visit to Punganur to support former Chittor MP Redappa and party cadres turned contentious, resulting in a major law and order issue. The visit, intended to address alleged physical attacks on YSR Congress party members, escalated into a violent clash with TDP supporters. The confrontation involved stone-pelting and led to significant injuries and property damage, including the torching of Redappa’s car. The local police struggled to manage the situation, which saw numerous vehicles damaged and chaos ensue.
In the aftermath, Mithun Reddy took action to address the damages caused during the violence. He fulfilled his promise to aid those affected by gifting a new car worth 20 lakhs to Redappa. Reddy personally handed over the vehicle's keys and assured that he would help rebuild homes and replace other damaged property. Despite this, political tensions continue to simmer in Punganur, with police urging both factions to remain calm and avoid further conflicts. Mithun Reddy's subsequent visit was carefully coordinated with local law enforcement to prevent a repeat of the July 18th disturbances.
