Varra Ravindra Reddy, a prominent supporter of the YSR Congress Party and close associate of YS Bharathi (wife of Andhra Pradesh CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy) and Kadapa MP Avinash Reddy, was arrested by Andhra Pradesh police at the Mahabubnagar border after evading capture for some time. Reddy, who had gained notoriety for posting derogatory and vulgar remarks on social media, particularly targeting political figures such as Chandrababu Naidu, Pawan Kalyan, and Y. S. Sharmila, had been on the run after multiple defamation cases were filed against him.
Though he was initially detained by Kadapa police, Reddy was controversially released after a 41-A notice was issued. This led to public uproar and the transfer of Kadapa’s SP Harshavardhan Raju.
