On Monday morning, February 17, 2025, a magnitude 4.0 earthquake struck Delhi and its surrounding areas, sending shockwaves of panic through the capital. The earthquake, recorded at a depth of five kilometers, had its epicenter near Durgabai Deshmukh College of Special Education in Dhaula Kuan. Several videos circulated online showing the moment the tremors hit, including CCTV footage showing pipes and wires shaking violently.
Despite the tremors lasting only three to four seconds, residents described the experience as one of the most intense earthquakes they had ever felt. Passengers at New Delhi railway station rushed out in fear, with one stating it felt as if a bridge had collapsed.
