D Gukesh, the 18-year-old chess prodigy, has been receiving love and praise from all over, including celebrities like Rajinikanth and Sivakarthikeyan. After making history by defeating China's Ding Liren in the FIDE World Championship match held in Singapore, Gukesh met with Rajinikanth and Sivakarthikeyan in Chennai.
Rajinikanth gifted Gukesh a shawl and a book, Paramahansa Yogananda's "Autobiography of a Yogi", and spent quality time with him and his family. Gukesh took to social media to thank Rajinikanth for his warm wishes and wisdom.
Sivakarthikeyan also met with Gukesh and gifted him a luxury watch. He even fed Gukesh a customized chess-themed cake. Gukesh expressed his gratitude towards Sivakarthikeyan for taking time out of his busy schedule to meet with him.
Gukesh's historic win has made him the youngest ever world chess champion, surpassing Garry Kasparov's record set in 1985 ¹.
