The 76th Republic Day celebrations saw Andhra Pradesh’s tableau featuring Etikoppaka eco-friendly wooden toys awarded the third prize. Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan expressed his pride over the recognition, taking to social media to thank President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on behalf of the state government.
Pawan Kalyan highlighted the state's efforts in promoting the cultivation of Ankudu trees, which are used in the crafting of Etikoppaka toys. These eco-friendly, handcrafted wooden toys have become a symbol of Andhra Pradesh's cultural heritage, and their inclusion in the state’s Republic Day tableau was a proud moment for the state.
Additionally, Pawan Kalyan acknowledged Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for selecting Etikoppaka toys as the theme for the tableau, which was also featured in souvenirs given to dignitaries at the event. The state’s tableau was highly praised for its craftsmanship and eco-conscious design.
The top prize for the best tableau went to Uttar Pradesh, showcasing the Mahakumbh Mela, while Tripura’s tableau, themed 'Eternal Reverence', secured the second prize. In the central ministries category, the Ministry of Tribal Affairs' tableau claimed the top spot. The Jammu and Kashmir Rifles marching contingent was named the best among the armed services.
