Noman Ali made history during Pakistan’s second Test against West Indies in Multan by taking a stunning hat-trick on Day 1. In the opening session of play, Noman dismissed Justin Greaves, Tevin Imlach, and Kevin Sinclair, joining an elite group of bowlers to achieve the feat. He became the sixth bowler to take a Test hat-trick on the first day’s first session and only the second spinner to do so, after Australia’s Billy Bates in 1883. At 38 years old, Noman also became the second-oldest player to take a Test hat-trick, after Sri Lanka's Rangana Herath.
Despite Noman’s historic performance, the match saw the West Indies securing a 120-run victory, drawing the series 1-1. West Indian spinner Jomel Warrican played a key role, taking five wickets in the second Test and finishing the series with 19 wickets. This marked the West Indies' first Test win in Pakistan in nearly 35 years, with their last victory coming in Faisalabad in 1990.
West Indian captain Kraigg Brathwaite expressed pride in the team's performance, noting the significance of their win in Pakistan after many years. The series began with Pakistan winning the first Test by 127 runs in Multan, but the West Indies’ resilience on the spinning pitches earned them a historic draw.
