The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Board, under the leadership of Chairman B.R. Naidu, has initiated a major personnel overhaul by transferring 18 non-Hindu employees. This action follows concerns raised by Hindu devotees about the promotion of non-Hindu activities, such as the availability of non-vegetarian food, alcohol, and drugs on the sacred Tirumala Hills, which some employees allegedly abetted.The decision has sparked mixed reactions, with many devotees expressing satisfaction, seeing the move as necessary to preserve the sanctity of the revered Lord Venkateswara temple. The TDP-led government, which assumed power after a significant mandate, has committed to reforms aimed at restoring the credibility of the TTD, which had faced severe criticism under the previous leadership of Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.
 

The former CM’s tenure was marked by several controversies, including allegations of mismanagement, the promotion of non-Hindu employees, and irregularities such as the alteration of religious images in SV University and the sale of TTD lands. These actions led to widespread distrust and frustration among Hindu devotees.The TDP government’s decision is seen as an effort to re-establish the temple’s religious integrity.
