Harshit Rana made an impressive debut in India's opening ODI against England in Nagpur, taking 3 wickets for 53 runs as India bowled out England for a modest 248. Despite strong contributions from Jos Buttler (52), Jacob Bethell (51), and Phil Salt (43), India’s disciplined bowling attack led by Rana and Ravindra Jadeja (3/26) controlled the innings.
Rana's debut, however, wasn’t without challenges. His first over saw Phil Salt attack him relentlessly, hitting 26 runs off him, but India quickly regrouped. A brilliant run-out by Shreyas Iyer shifted momentum, and Rana’s resilience saw him claim key wickets, including those of Ben Duckett and Harry Brook, putting England on the back foot.
Despite a steady fifty from Buttler, India’s bowlers continued to strike, and Jadeja’s LBW dismissal of Bethell sealed the deal, with England unable to recover. This win gave India control of the series opener, with impressive performances from debutants like Rana and Yashasvi Jaiswal.
