Someshwar, currently the CEO and Managing Director of HT Media, brings extensive leadership experience, having worked with PepsiCo for 24 years across various roles in general management, finance, and strategy.
Hina Nagarajan, the first woman to lead Diageo India, played a pivotal role in reshaping the company's portfolio with a focus on premiumisation, resulting in significant growth. Under her leadership, Diageo India saw an increase in its premium portfolio, which now makes up over 87% of total sales, up from 72% in 2021.
Nagarajan also overcame bureaucratic challenges, fighting for mechanisms that allowed price adjustments in the face of inflation. She leaves a strong legacy with a highly engaged team and a record of sustained growth.
Praveen Someshwar will take over as the Managing Director and CEO of United Spirits Ltd., Diageo India's subsidiary, in April 2024. His appointment marks the next phase in the company's strategic growth.
