Andhra Pradesh Education Minister Nara Lokesh has proposed several strategies to address the growing drug abuse problem in the state. Speaking at a meeting of the ministers' sub-committee on narcotics, Lokesh suggested that a chapter about the dangers of drug addiction should be included in the school curriculum to educate youth.
He also recommended the use of drones to identify and destroy ganja plantations and the creation of anti-narcotics committees across schools, colleges, universities, and local communities. Furthermore, he proposed that government welfare benefits be cut for families involved in drug-related crimes. The committee also plans to look into the measures implemented by Punjab to fight drug abuse. Other ministers, along with top officials, participated in the meeting, supporting the proposed actions.
