केदारनाथ 12 ज्योतिर्लिंगों मैं से एक प्रमुख ज्योतिर्लिंग है। केदारनाथ की स्थापना पांडवो द्वारा की गई थी। बाद में इसे आदिगुरु संकराचार्य ने पुनः स्थापित किया। केदारनाथ पहुँचने के लिए हरिद्वार नज़दीक का रेलवे स्टेशन है। वहां से बस या टैक्सी से ऋषिकेश श्रीनगर रुद्रप्रयाग होते हुए सोनप्रयाग पहुचना होता है। ऋषिकेश से सोनप्रयाग की दूरी करीब 208 km है। सोनप्रयाग से 5 km की दूरी पर गौरीकुंड स्थित है जहां हमे लोकल टेक्सी से पहुचना होता है। गौरी कुंड से केदारनाथ जाने के लिए पैदल मार्ग है जिसकी दूरी करीब 16km है। गौरीकुंड से केदारनाथ पहुचने में 6 से 8 घंटे का समय लगता है। हेलिकॉप्टर से केदारनाथ जाने के लिए गुप्तकाशी, औऱ फाटा से सुविधा उपलब्ध है।
