Ethical Play Therapy Practice
Child therapists face a unique and challenging set of ethics guidelines in using play therapy to treat their minor clients while involving adult decision-makers in the consent and treatment process. This course will guide participants through the process of ethical decision making in the play therapy process and offer them opportunities to apply their own licensure’s ethics requirements as well as Best Practices as promulgated by the Association for Play Therapy to ethical questions in play therapy.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this workshop participants will be able to:
1. Identify ethics requirements in providing play therapy under Texas licensing rules
2. Identify steps in ethical decision-making processes in play therapy
3. Apply ethical decision-making to play therapy ethics questions
4. Determine ethical processes to apply to future play therapy
