Telugu cinema is all set to welcome an emotional family drama that could mark a major milestone in the career of veteran actress Archana. Titled Shashtipoorthi, the film features Rupeysh and Akanksha Singh in lead roles alongside acclaimed actors Rajendra Prasad and Archana. Slated for release on May 30, the film is directed by Pavan Prabha and produced under the Maa Aaie Productions banner by Rupeysh himself.
In a recent promotional interview, the cast and crew shared emotional anecdotes and insights about the making of the film. Archana, who plays the hero’s mother, said she developed a real-life bond with actor Rupeysh during the shoot. “He became more like a real son to me,” she shared warmly, praising his dedication and hard work. “Rupeysh worked extremely hard for this film. The kind of effort he put in is commendable.”
Actor and producer Rupeysh, clearly moved by Archana’s performance, confidently declared, “I believe Archana garu will win her third National Award for this role. Her performance is powerful, deeply emotional, and something audiences will never forget.”
The film’s director Pavan Prabha shared a heartfelt backstory, revealing that he added his mother's name "Prabha" to his own, which reflects his core values. He explained how he guided Archana’s character development by telling her, “You should look like a mother to your son, and a wife to your husband.” That simple but effective direction helped Archana deliver a nuanced performance that’s already drawing industry buzz.
Shashtipoorthi is a deeply emotional story centered on the lead couple, as well as the hero’s parents. The narrative explores generational bonds, sacrifices, love, and the silent strength within family life. With a balanced mix of sentiment, drama, and strong character arcs, the film is positioned as a soulful, feel-good experience that audiences across all age groups can connect with.
