The iconic Malayalam classic Oru Vadakkan Veeragatha is all set to make a grand return to the big screen with a 4K re-release. The trailer for this re-release was unveiled at a special event at the AMMA office, with Malayalam cinema legends Mammootty, Mohanlal, and Suresh Gopi attending the launch. Other key figures from the film, including actors Vineeth Kumar, Jomol, and Ramu, also graced the event, alongside the children of the late producer P.V. Gangadharan, Shenuga Jayathilak and Sherga Sandeep.
Sherga Sandeep shared a heartfelt message, stating that the re-release was a tribute to their father, who passed away before realizing his dream of presenting the film in 4K. The film, which was originally released in 1989, was a major success, featuring stellar performances from Mammootty, Suresh Gopi, Madhavi, and others. It was renowned for its engaging storytelling and craftsmanship, with exceptional cinematography by K. Ramachandra Babu, music by Bombay Ravi, and editing by M.S. Mani.
Oru Vadakkan Veeragatha received critical acclaim and numerous awards, including National and State Film Awards.
