Hyderabad : Indian superstar Allu Arjun was arrested from his residence in Jubilee Hills in connection with a tragic stampede at a Hyderabad theater. The actor had filed a petition to delay his arrest until Monday, but the Telangana High Court ordered 14 days of judicial custody.
Family members, including his father, prominent filmmaker Allu Arvind, were present during the arrest. Arjun claimed that police entered his bedroom before taking him to Chikkadpally Police Station.
The arrest is linked to a December 4 stampede at Sandhya Theatre that claimed one life. A complaint filed by the victim’s husband alleged negligence in informing the authorities about the planned celebrity appearance, leading to charges of culpable homicide not amounting to murder.
