Icon star Allu Arjun has been granted a significant legal relief as the Andhra Pradesh High Court quashed the case filed against him by the Nandyal Police. This case stemmed from an alleged violation of the Election Commission's Model Code of Conduct during his public appearance in Nandyal earlier this year.
The controversy began when Allu Arjun participated in a large public event in support of Silpa Ravi Chandra Kishore Reddy, a former MLA and candidate during the elections. As the actor arrived, a massive rally involving motorcycles and cars took place in the town, and a crowd later gathered at Silpa Ravi’s residence. The issue arose from the fact that prior permission for such a rally was not obtained, despite police providing security for Allu Arjun's visit. This prompted complaints from individuals to the Election Commission, which led the Nandyal Two Town Police to register an FIR against both Allu Arjun and Silpa Ravi for allegedly violating the Model Code of Conduct.
In response, Allu Arjun and Silpa Ravi challenged the case in the High Court, seeking the dismissal of the petition. After considering the matter, the Andhra Pradesh High Court reviewed the arguments on October 25 and initially postponed its verdict. However, on November 6, the court ruled in favor of the actor and politician, quashing the case filed against them.
This legal victory is a significant relief for Allu Arjun, who had maintained that his participation in the event was non-political and was aimed at supporting a personal connection. The ruling also highlights the ongoing legal complexities surrounding the Election Commission's Model Code of Conduct, particularly when public figures like Allu Arjun engage in political events.
