Kannada film star Darshan, facing serious allegations in the murder case of his fan Renuka Swamy, has been granted temporary relief from custody by the Karnataka High Court. The court approved a six-week interim bail earlier today, allowing him to undergo necessary medical surgery.
Darshan was arrested on June 11 for his alleged involvement in the murder of Renukaswamy. After his bail request was initially denied in September by a sessions court, the actor sought relief from the Karnataka High Court. In his appeal, he highlighted a medical condition causing numbness in his feet, which required immediate surgical intervention.
The actor indicated plans to undergo the procedure at a private hospital in Mysuru and stated he would cover the associated costs himself. In response, the state presented sealed medical reports from doctors at Ballari Central Prison and a neurologist from a government hospital, which were reviewed by Justice S. Vishwajith Shetty.
