On the occasion of Republic Day, along with the additional advantage of the long weekend, two recent Telugu films Guntur Kaaram and HanuMan had a pretty good run at the box office.
Hanuman in particular reported twice the revenues as it posted the day before Republic day. It is the biggest benefactor of the R day weekend with nearly Rs 7 crores gross worldwide.
On the other hand, there is a considerable bump in the collections of Guntur Kaaram as well. The film reported decent to good revenues in most areas on R day.
With no New Telugu films releasing on the R day weekend, the two Sankranthi releases made merry and posted the last good numbers of their box office run as they are heading to close out the run by next weekend when new films hit the theaters.
