Salaar is going on a fine run at the Indian box office and also at the USA box office and the makers have announced that the film has grossed over Rs 500 crores at the global box office.
However, there is a planted campaign against the OTT release date of Salaar as there are social media reports that the film will be made available for streaming on Netflix from the 12th of January.
The narrative here is to project that Salaar will stream on Netflix just 20 days post its theatrical release. But this is impractical as Salaar is still running successfully on OTT.
Moreover, the Hindi multiplex managements have strict rules in place as they want all their films that they screen in theaters to have OTT debut at least 8 weeks post theatrical release.
In the case, Salaar which is going on a merry run at the Hindi box office will not be made available for streaming on Netflix in the near future. The film could make its OTT debut only in February, if not later.
