The Tollywood box office saw the release of multiple new films last weekend and two of the notable such films were Pedda Kapu and Skanda.
Skanda marks the coming together of Ram Pothineni and Boyapati Sreenu and this is a proper mass films.
Skanda had a good opening at the box office despite the week reviews. But with the poor word of mouth, it couldn't generate much revenues later and it crashed in the long weekend, ending up posting weak numbers.
Skanda will result in the loss of close to 50% of the theatrical investments. The buyers will be compensated by the producer with his next films.
And as for Pedda Kapu 1, the film has ended up as a mega disaster in every term. It will incur 100% losses to the buyers as the theatrical rights are at around Rs 12 crores and the collections aren't even 1 crore rupees
